Obituary

Ora Loy Nielson Robison, 89, passed away peacefully of natural causes incident to age at her home December 12, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born Friday, April 13, 1923 in Aurora Utah to Miles and Vilda Nielson. Ora and her family moved to Richfield where she was raised with her sister, Betty and her brother, Norman. All of whom preceded her in death. They were an extremely close and loving family and remained so throughout their lives. Ora married Carold Rob Robison, later divorced, but they remained very close friends throughout her life. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Ora received her nursing (RN) degree from the Holy Cross School of Nursing. She loved her job as public health nurse, in which she served for many years. She then went back to school and earned her doctorate in nursing. She worked the remainder of her career at Granite Mental Health and later Valley Mental Health, working with children, youths, parents and adults. Her specialty was working with the children. She was loved and respected both as a clinician, psychiatric nurse, co-worker and supervisor. Many sought her out for advice and guidance. Ora was extremely close to her family, her nieces and nephews, with whom she spent a lot of time, taking them home for the summer and on special vacations to many different places. She also had a special place in her heart for her many puppies. Ora had numerous hobbies. She was an avid reader, a beautiful artist, a fabulous cook. She loved knitting, crocheting and gardening. Ora was a loving and generous angel that we were all blessed to have known and she will be greatly missed by all those she touched. Ora is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Nielson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; her dear friend, Essie Burdette and her life long friend, Carold Robison. Thanks to all those who helped with Ora during her last days. Special thanks to Carlos Torres, her loving health care worker, who cared for her with much love. Also, thank you to Dr. Rignell who cared for her so tenderly throughout the years. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd. Interment will follow at the Richfield City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
