Pamela
Cummins
October 24, 1954 – December 3, 2019
Pamela Cummins left this earth unexpectedly on the morning of December 3, 2019. Born October 24, 1954 to Carl Dodson and Lorene Simpson in Mammoth Springs, AR, she was the youngest of three children.
Having two older brothers, Pam was the very protected daughter/sister. She spent her early years in Couch, MO on her beloved farm before moving to Kearney, MO. In her late teens she met and soon married Micheal Cummins, who together they had seven children. Great difficulties soon overwhelmed them: son, Joseph (2 ½ years old) died in 1981, daughter, Rebecca Ann (12 weeks old) died in 1988, and four children developed seizure disorders (two with autism and one with epilepsy).
In 1989, Pam graduated with an Associates in Nursing, after taking night school classes for six years. She got a job working at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO; first in Med Surg and then as a Labor and Delivery nurse. She and Micheal divorced in 1992.
In 1999; after the birth of her first grandchild, Pam decided to leave KC, MO and move to Southern Utah to be close to her grandkids. She began working at Dixie Regional Medical Center as a Labor and Delivery Nurse.
In 2001 she met and married Joseph Anzalone. In 2004 tragedy would strike Pam's life again when her son, Brandon James (age 22) passed away. In 2009 She moved into a house with some property and she finally was able to have the farm that she always wanted. She raised chickens, turkeys, goats, rabbits, and dogs. She also had a great garden. She had a love for animals and growing plants. She loved to crochet for her grandkids. She was a prepper and was very into food storage and being self-sufficient.
She worked for IHC for 15 years before Chronic back pain forced her early retirement due to unknown scoliosis from her young years. This also forced her to lose her farm/house at a great loss. She would soon move in with her son which allowed her to be around her grandchildren
a lot. She missed working with her friends and talked about them often.
She was a member of a local chapter of the Red Hat Club. She loved her outings with her friends and always looked forward to being able to spend time with them. She was surrounded by her family on a daily basis. She was very happy to be able to spend the time she did with her grandkids. She was an amazing Grandma and Mother. For the last few years she continued to care for her children: Christopher, Sarah, and Jeremiah. She has left behind family & friends who love her dearly. She was a Light to everyone.
Pam was very accepting and always welcomed a relationship with anyone. Over her lifetime she welcomed many children and teens into her home and cared for them as if they were her own. There were never harsh words or judgement towards anyone.
Our Hope is that Pam is enjoying her next chapter with her children and mother, who have been lost to this world. Even though her body has passed, her presence will be remembered by all whom she touched.
She is survived by her sons: Christopher Michael Cummins of St George Ut, Brian Daniel (Nicole) Cummins of Washington, Ut, and Jeremiah Scott Cummins of St George, Ut; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Cummins of St George, Ut; grandchildren: Alysse Marie Cummins, Anjolie Kate Cummins, Elijah Zachary Cummins, Ashtyn McKell Cummins and husband, Joseph Anzalone; and brother, Tom Dodson. Pam was preceded in death by her children: Joseph, Rebecca, and Brandon Cummins, grandson, Logan Isaac Cummins, brother, Keith Dodson, and her parents, Lorene Simpson Parton and Carl Dodson.
