Obituary

St. George, Utah - Patricia June Scrivener Albrecht passed away December 16, 2014. She was born June 20, 1930, in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada to Albert George and Ada Harriott Scrivener. Her schooling was in Canada. She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 8, 1943 with her family after missionaries taught them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pat came to the United States at age 18 and married returned missionary John Keith Albrecht in the Salt Lake Temple, September 7, 1948. They lived in Ferron, Emery County, Utah for 43 years where her husband taught school at South Emery High and Emery County High School. Pat and Keith took a 3 year leave of absence with their family of 6 children in 1966 to go the Tongan Islands where Keith taught at Liahona High School for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pat was a great support to him. She enjoyed friends, beaches, snorkeling and gathering shells. They were blessed to have a baby boy born while in Tonga. They returned to Ferron and lived there until Keith retired. Pat bottled fruit each summer and canned vegetables from the garden. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, avid reader, quilter, liked to oil paint, loved music and her flower gardens. She taught her children and grandchildren to play Rook. The backyard was the scene of barbecues and fun. Pat and Keith were ordinance workers in both the Manti Temple and St. George Temple. They served a mission to the Island of Tarawa in the Suva-Fiji mission. After their mission they retired to St. George, Utah and have lived there since 1991. Pat dedicated her life to family history research. She served in many church callings. Pat loved her five daughters and two sons. She welcomed each new person that was added to the family. She is survived by her children: Nancy (Richard) Judd of Washington, Utah, Karen (Michael) Johnson of Tremonton, Utah, Harriett (Scott) Reid of Providence, Utah, Kent (Sherrie) Albrecht of St. George, Utah, Ann (Gary) Temple of Ivins, Utah, Sandra (Kelly) Stacey of Hereford, Arizona and Stuart (Sarah) Albrecht of Tucson, Arizona. Twenty four grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, and her brothers Ted, John, and Reed Scrivener of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband Keith, in 2008.
