St. George, UT - Paul Steven Sidlow, age 69, passed away February 19, 2010 in St. George, Utah, following a brief illness. He was born October 31, 1940 in Illinois to Steven and Florence Sidlow. Paul served an LDS mission in Northern California. He graduated from Los Angeles State University, and University of Southern California. He did doctoral work at Pace University in New York. While in college he met the love of his life and married Linda Swope, they were sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Together they have four children: Susan (Gary) Bond, Leslie (Mike) Rowe, Scott (Amy) Sidlow, and David (Stacia) Sidlow, and 14 grandchildren whom he loved very much: Tyler, Tanner, Tarin, Trever, Ashley, Zachary, Hannah, Jenna, Kalea, Ashley, Lexi, Alexander, Finnian, and Beckett. During his 30 years with IBM they made several moves from coast to coast. He loved the last 10 years of his retirement teaching computers at Dixie State College. He enjoyed all of his various callings in the LDS Church which included serving in the Bishopric, High Council, and various teaching positions. He also served as a temple worker. He possessed the quality of making friends with everyone he met. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at 10:00 a.m, at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 9-9:45 a.m., at the mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery under the care and direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221.
