Obituary

Pauline Casalaspro, 92, passed away May 15, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1934 in Mason, WI to Petra and Matt Bichanich. She married Joseph Casalaspro on February 25, 1956 in Barksdale AFB, LA.

Pauline was raised Catholic on a farm in Mason, WI and attended grade school and high school in the area. She lived in Milwaukee, WI following high school for one year, then entered the United States Air Force. She was a medical technician stationed in Eglin AFB, FL.

Ater marriage, she and Joseph moved to NY, where she was a nursing technician in a nursing home and then a school crossing guard for the Nassau County Police Department. She liked to travel and was an amateur oil artist.

Upon retirement, she and Joseph moved to Iron River, WI. After Joseph’s passing she moved to Alburquerque, NM, then to St. George, UT.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Debra Casalaspro-Couls (Christopher Couls); grandson, Joseph Couls; sisters-in-law: Pat Bichanich, Barbara Bichanich, Dorothy Bichanich and Agnes Moniza; three godchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Petra Bichanich; husband, Joseph Casalaspro; sisters: Milly Kuchan, Mary Aina and Dolly Thull; brothers: Mike Moniza, George Moniza, Bob Moniza, Steve Moniza, Ivan Bichanich, Paul Bichanich, Marco Bichanich and Jim Bichanich.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. George Catholic Church located at 259 West 200 North.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
