Obituary

St. George, Utah - Pearl Moody Asay passed away at the age of 86 on September 7, 2011 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born August 20, 1925 in Penrose, Wyoming to John Franklin Moody and Judith Maud Mangus Moody, the eighth of nine siblings. She married Carm Monroe Hampton in 1941 in Red Lodge, Montana. They had three children: Charles Clayton Hampton, Kathy Lee Hersey and Carl Jay Hampton. Carm and Pearl divorced in 1948 and she married Evan Hatch Asay on December 1, 1951. Evan and Pearl and their children were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1957.

Pearl has always been active and serving in the LDS Church. Evan and Pearl served a mission to British Columbia, as well as a mission in the Mesa Arizona Temple and the St. George, Utah Temple. After their children were raised, Evan and Pearl moved from Lovell, Wyoming to St. George, Utah.

Evan preceded her in death January 1988. She is survived by her three children; one brother, Wendell Moody; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Interment will follow at the St. George City Cemetery.
