St. George, Utah
– Peggy Oldroyd Wright, 86, passed away on November 29, 2016. She was born February 3, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Isaac Marvin and Delta Rothlisberger Oldroyd.
Peggy attended Brigham Young University and subsequently graduated from Stevens-Henager College.
While working at Bradford Realty in Salt Lake City, she was introduced by her future mother-in-law, to John MacArthur (Mac) Wright. They were married May 4, 1955, in the Salt Lake City Utah LDS Temple.
She worked at Dixie College for many years in the Office of the Registrar, becoming Assistant Registrar, and later worked in concurrent enrollment.
Peggy enjoyed golfing at Bloomington Country Club, where she was a member for over forty years. She also enjoyed camping, especially at Fish Lake, Utah, and Utah Jazz basketball.
Peggy was active in the community and the LDS Church. She was a wonderful friend, performing many acts of quiet service. Her greatest joy was her family.
Peggy is survived by her children: Susan (Ron) Burns, Colette (Stan) Jeppsen, Jonathan (Linda) Wright; daughter-in-law, Linda Wright; grandchildren: Chelsea (Alex) Bown, Chase Burns, Amy (Brian) Tanner, Eric (Catherine) Jeppsen, Sean (Jackie) Jeppsen, Kelsey (Garth) Simpson, Rebecca and Lauren Wright, Hilary (Gavin) Coburn, Jesse Enser and Christopher Wright.
We love you and miss you, Mom, but we know that Dad, Kevin and you are together again, laughing and joking and this brings us comfort and peace.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery.
