IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phillip And
Martha Abrahamson
August 10, 1934 – January 7, 2024
St George Utah - Our beloved Iowa farm boy Phillip Abrahamson and Georgia peach, Martha Floyd Abrahamson, passed away after 45 years of marriage. Martha, age 84, passed away on December 30, 2023, and Phillip, 89, followed her to their heavenly home only 8 days later, on January 7th, 2024. Surrounded by lots of family and friends, Canyon Care Home Health, and Hospice, they both peacefully graduated from this life.
Phillip Carson Coe Abrahamson was born at his childhood home in the August heat of 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Sarah Romaine Sheldon and Ora Leo Abrahamson. Our car-loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather dedicated his life to our great red, white, and blue when he graduated top of his class in the Air Force Academy, serving as a Master Sergeant, and then honorably returning home to continue raising his family with the help of Martha at his side.
Just as the "Belle of Georgia" peach trees were blooming in March of 1939, Martha Floyd Shouse was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Lindsey Rudolph and Ruth Mann Shouse. In addition to her keen eye for bargains and love of flowers, every house she had felt like a home. As a mother to her 3 boys and 2 of Phil's girls, she was a mother to everyone she met along her journey.
As a couple, Phil and Martha were a powerhouse, his quiet strength, tenacity, and wit, was the perfect match for her generosity, southern charm, and love for life. Together they conquered many hardships, overcoming what life threw at them - all the while being adventurous and sharing their talents, time, and love. They both made an unforgettable impact in the lives of their 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
