Phyllis Watkins McGhie, 96, died July 22, 2025, in her home in St. George Utah. She was born on December 30, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rhoda King and George Reynold Watkins.

She married Marlen Dean McGhie, 9 November 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She graduated in June 1950 from the University of Utah with a degree in secondary education.

Phyllis taught high school and enjoyed seeing her students grow through learning. She was an active church worker serving in many callings and with her husband served three missions and served as an ordinance worker in the St George LDS Temple.

Phyllis leaves behind her children: Kathryn M. Olsen, Patricia M. Ferguson, Colleen M. Rowe, Michael D. McGhie, John R. McGhie, Mary E. Harper and David M. McGhie.  She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing from 8:30 am. to 9:30 a.m., at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Internment at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
