Ivins, UT - Rakel Mara Johnson Chugg, age 42, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010. She was born December 8, 1967 to her loving parents Rand Joseph and Dorothy Mae Kendall Johnson in Boise, Idaho. She married Curtis Russon Chugg in the Manti LDS Temple on May 15, 1987. Their love began at a dance while attending Ricks College (presently BYU Idaho). She received her associates from Ricks and chose to forgo further education in elementary ed., and dedicated her life to starting and nurturing her family. Rakel and family members are very appreciative of the many kind hearted friends and family who cared for her and the family over the past several years while she battled breast cancer that finally took her life. She is most loved, respected and honored in life and now she is blessed in heaven. She is survived by her husband Curtis and children: Joshua, Chelsea, Brandon, Nathaniel, Ariana and all of her loving siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents while she was a young girl. She wishes to acknowledge her loving Aunt Nola and Uncle Karl Kendall who raised her following her parents death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 28th, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Red Cliffs LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 625 E. Center St., Ivins, UT. A visitation will be held Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., and Wednesday, from 9-10:30 a.m., at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will be Friday, APril 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery on Hwy 95 inOntario, Oregon (near Weiser, Idaho).
