Obituary

St. George, UT - Ralph Westley Mallery, age 75, died on August 15, 2009 at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Ralph was born in Roseburg, Oregon on August 16, 1933 to Velna Gildersleeve and Wesley Mallery. He is survived by his wife, Kay and children Lisa Hansell of Vancouver, WA, West Mallery of Clanton, AL, Cathleen Findley of Palo Alto, CA, Debbie Barrus of Salt Lake City, UT and David Duncan of Bonita, CA. Ralph is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Ralph joined the Air Force at 19 years old and served honorably in combat during the Korean War. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, boating, golfing, camping, flying, driving his Corvette, traveling and entertaining in his garage. Ralph happily retired as an aerospace engineer in 1991. Ralph and Kay built their home in St. George in 1992, where he enjoyed many rounds of golf and the company of good friends. Ralph always worked hard to provide a better life for his family. While he was a man of few words, he was thoughtful, generous and had a great sense of humor. We will miss him dearly and love him always. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221. The family invites friends and neighbors to join in a Celebration of Life from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Mallery home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or church.
