IVINS, UTAH - Ralph Benton Moore departed from our family on January 11, 2010 at Dixie Regional Medical Center, St. George, Utah from heart related health problems. He was born in Provo, Utah on August 16, 1931 to Thomas George and Louisa Poulton Moore. He grew up in Milford, Utah and graduated from Milford High School in 1949. On graduation night he started a 44 year career with the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1950 he married Geniel Tanner. Ralph had a passion for automobiles and jeeps. He was a member of the Color Country Chorus. He enjoyed the guys and loved to sing at all events. Prior to moving to Ivins, he was a member of the Beehive Statesman Chorus. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a past member of the Ivins LDS Third Ward Bishopric. He felt very privileged to serve in the St. George Temple a few years ago. Ralph is survived by his wife, Geniel; son, Thomas Craig (Kim); daughter, Michelle (Rod) Thurston; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Hickman and Arlene Gardner; sister-in-law, Colleen Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; son Bryan Ralph; grandson, Joshua Thurston; and brother, Maurice G. Moore. Ralph was a kind and gentle man, who will be missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to thank everyone at DRMC-ICU, who worked so hard to help him. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Ralphs name to your favorite charity. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ivins LDS Stake Center, 260 East 1060 South, Ivins, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday, January 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah and on Friday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will be Friday, January 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Milford City Cemetery, Milford, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221.
