Obituary

Washington, UT - Ralph Trulan Anderson, 83, passed away at his home Sunday, October 4, 2009. Ralph was born in Leamington, Utah to James and Electa Marie Harder Anderson September 26, 1926. He married Charlotte LaFay "Fay" Humphrey in Reno, Nevada August 28, 1961. They made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah until moving to the St. George area in 1997. He is survived by his wife Fay Anderson; his sons, Robert Anderson and wife Shirley of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kevin Anderson of Salt Lake City; one granddaughter, Amanda Doyle Anderson of Mesquite, Nevada; one grandson, Casey Anderson, MS.MSS, of Cedar City, Utah; and one great-grandson, Dominik Steven Sparks of Mesquite, Nevada. He is also survived by sisters, Elaine Ord and Helen Humphries both of Redlands, California; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Craig Anderson. Ralph was raised on the family farm in Leamington, Utah the youngest of seven children. Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 in 1944 and served as a Water Tender 3rd Class until his honorable discharge in 1946. While in the Navy, Ralph learned his profession as a Master Machinist. He enjoyed a long career with Litton before finishing his career with Varian Eimac when he retired in 1990. His love and knowledge of his trade was prevalent in everything he did. Ralph enjoyed a full and long life. His love of travel was displayed by building the family's first boat and hydraulic "pop-out" camper and later upgrading, by converting a bread truck into their first RV. He especially enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips. Upon retirement he enjoyed working with wood and made many beautiful pieces. The family extends its deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at Hospice and in particular Suzanne, Pauline and Angela "Little Bit". In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rocky Mountain Care, 230 N. 1680 E. #V1 St. George, Utah 84790. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine View Mortuary, 566 N. Mall Drive, St. George, Utah.
