IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ramona Finlinson
Day Wood
September 9, 1928 – April 17, 2014
St. George / Enterprise, Utah - Ramona Finlinson Day Wood, 85, was born on September 9, 1928 to Esdras and Ethel Margaret Shipley Finlinson. Ramona was born and raised in Oak City, Utah where she attended elementary school. Her mother passed away when she was twelve years old, leaving her with lots of responsibility at a young age. She learned to play the piano from her mother and Grandma Shipley. She developed a great love of music which brought her much joy throughout her life. She graduated from Delta High School. During her high school years, she played in an orchestra with her brother, Reece. They provided music regularly at area dances and at the Topaz Internment Camp and for the USO at Wendover Airbase. Following High School she attended BYU Nursing School. After graduation she went to work for Dr. Rymal Williams in Cedar City, Utah where she met future husband, Henry Weldon Day. They were married November 26, 1949. They were the parents of three children: Colleen (Jack) Randall, Margaret-deceased (Fred) Ybright and Curtis (Nadine) Day. After Weldons passing in 1980, Ramona married Jack B. Wood on October 8, 1982 and inherited a step-son, Rodney (Connie) Wood.
Ramona was a wonderful devoted companion, mother and sister to LaMae Twitchell. She was Grandma Mona to 16 grandchildren, "Grandma Great" to 41 great-grandchildren and great-great grandma to one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esdras and Ethel Finlinson; brother, Reece; and daughter, Margaret.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We, as her family, will cherish the time we had to love and be loved by her.
