Ramona Faye Hogue Houston

St. George, Utah – Ramona Faye Hogue Houston, 86, passed away at home on January 10, 2017 of heart failure. She was born on November 13, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Roma Golson and Sydney Allen Hogue, who preceded her in death.

Ramona married Wayne H. Houston on March 5, 1949 in Panguitch, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in May 5, 1971, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple and sealed with daughters: Janet and Carol.

Ramona held many callings in the LDS Church including Relief Society President and counselor in the Primary Presidency.

Ramona loved the cool ocean breezes of Costa Mesa, California, racing horses in Phoenix, the red hills of Dixie and Dr. Pepper with crushed ice.

She is survived by husband of 68 years, Wayne; sister, Judy (Ray), daughters: Janet and Carol; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara City Cemetery, Santa Clara, Utah
