HURRICANE, UTAH - Randall M. Smart passed away July 9, 2010 due to complications from cancer. He was born May 12, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lesly E. and Elaine McCormick Smart. He was the middle son of five boys. He spent his childhood years in Holladay, Utah. After high school he joined the Green Beret Special Forces. He also served an honorable LDS Mission to Sweden. On August 22, 1974 he married his high school sweetheart, Lyndy Ash in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children whom he loved very much. He was a successful businessman. He owned and operated Smart Enterprises Inc. in St. George, Utah for 26 years. His greatest love was serving in the LDS Church. He served as a scoutmaster twice, young mens presidency, councilor in the stake mission presidency, elders quorum presidency, high councilman, and first and second councilor of the Hurricane LDS West Stake presidency for nine and a half years. He loves the people of Hurricane and appreciated all their prayers, love and support on his behalf. He is survived by his wife, Lyndy; children: Shawn (Wendy), Shane (Angela), Rick (Myndi) all of Hurricane and daughter, Anne Marie of St. George; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Elaine Smart of Salt Lake City; brothers: Paul (Edie) of Salt Lake City, Don (Susie) of Sandy, Rob (Jeril) of Sandy, and Jon (Kim) of Sandy. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS West Stake Center, 272 South 700 West, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday, July 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center, prior to services.
