Obituary

Ivins, Utah – Raymond Barron Ortiz passed away January 29, 2017. He was born October 7, 1918 in Alamo Gordo, New Mexico to Eustacio and Jesusita Barron Ortiz.
Ray served with three of his brothers during World War II in the Philippines and South Pacific. He worked for 35 years in the Shipping Department of the Railroad. In 2014, he and Elena retired to St. George, Utah.
Ray was a member of the St. George Catholic Church and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elena; children: Robert W. Galivan, Judy (Dale) Hirschi, Kim (Peggy) Jensen and Sherri (Lee) Casey; two loving nephews, Jason Crain and Albert Yanez; one niece, Dianne Crain; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Madelene; and twelve siblings.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George Catholic Church located at 259 West 200 North.
