Obituary

St. George, Utah – Raymonde Andreo Medina died after a short illness on Friday, July 26, 2019 in St. George, Utah at the age of 86. She was born in Oran, Algeria, North Africa on April 22, 1933.
Raymonde met her husband Pierre Noel Medina, a former WWII French Resistance fighter when Pierre's job as an electrical engineer took him to Algeria. At the time of his death in 2001, Raymonde and Pierre had been married for 48 years.
After their marriage, Pierre and Raymonde lived in Mostaganem where their sons were born. The Algerian War forced the young family to flee to France where they lived until emigrating to Montreal, Canada. Raymonde dreamed of living in America and Pierre found a job in California with a company that electrified rural communities. Within weeks of starting his new job, Pierre was sent on assignment to South America. Raymonde followed with the boys, setting up their homes in Guatemala, Columbia and San Salvador. In 1965 they returned to California where they lived until retirement.
Fluent in three languages, Raymonde enjoyed traveling in America and abroad. Some of her happiest times were family fishing trips to San Felipe, Mexico.
Raymonde is survived by her son Pierre (Peter), of California, his children Nicole Salvas of California and her husband Ian, Danielle Jones of Utah and her husband Tyler; her son Michele (Mike) of Utah., his children Michael Medina of Washington, Caitlin Medina of Colorado, Brittany Grimshaw of Utah, and four great grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, a family memorial service will be held at a later date.
