Richard Lee Harker, 69, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, surrounded by family.
Rick was born July 28, 1954, in Murray, Utah to Melvin and Lois Harker, the second of five children. He graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1973, then went on to work as an apprentice and later becoming an iron worker.
His first marriage provided him with two children, later ending in divorce. He married his love, Karen Morrison on July 8, 1978. They made their home in Delta, Utah. He continued as an iron worker completing several projects including the IPP Power Plant in Delta, Utah and Lt. America Hotel in Salt Lake City. He also farmed acreage and repaired farm equipment as a second and third job in Delta, Utah. He and Karen retired to St. George, Utah until his passing.
Rick is survived by his children: Teresa Gregg of Aurora, CO and Stephen Gregg of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren: Cheyenne DeMarr of Gretna, NE and James DeMarr of Omaha, NE; four great-grandchildren: Kaden, Karson, Abbigail, Melodie and Isabel; many nieces and nephews; loyal loving companion, Zipper; sisters: Linette (Robert) Marrow of Sun City, AZ and Vean (Robert) Beutler of Kemmerer, WY; brother, Cory Harker of Evanston, WY; and in-laws: Ann (Bill) Ashby, Philip (Tonya) Morrison and Mike (Marci) Morrison. He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, Melvin and Lois Harker; and brother, Steven Harker.
Graveside services will be held on October 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Delta City Cemetery, Delta, Utah.
