St. George, UT - Richard H. Johnson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away January 3, 2011, after a brief illness. He was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1934, and moved to Southern California at an early age. He graduated from BYU in 1959. He met and married Mary Ann Lewis while at school and they moved to California with their young family where Richard began his career in education. In 1995, Richard retired as a Junior High School principal and he and Mary moved to Chandler, Arizona. Richard loved to golf and when he wasnt swinging a club, he and Mary enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with their family. Richard was very active in the LDS Church and held many positions in California, Arizona, and Utah. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Mary, sons; Craig Johnson of Princeton, MN, Robert Johnson of Newbury Park, CA, daughters; Karen (Tom) Hutchinson of Kaysville, UT, Leesa Johnson of McCall, ID, grandchildren; Dustin Johnson, Travis (Robyn) Hutchinson, Kylee Hutchinson, Samson Large, Hannah Johnson and Kelsee Hutchinson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sun River 3rd Branch Chapel, 4461 South Country Club Dr., St. George, UT. A visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow at the Logandale Cemetery, Logandale, NV, at 2:30 p.m. (Nevada Time).
