St. George, UT - Robert Dale Duffin passed away peacefully at his home on February 3, 2010. Dad was born January 25, 1925 to Horace Cyril and Zelma Wicker Duffin in Bountiful, Utah, where he grew up. He married his childhood sweetheart, June Sessions, in the Salt Lake Temple December 3, 1945. He is survived by his children: Anne; Mary Draper (Del), their daughters Phoebe and Abby; Robert (Dee-Dee), their daughters Liz and Darby; Peter (Jan), their children Hayden and Haley; his brother Horace and sisters Helen Olson and Deanna Avis. Dad enjoyed a 37-year career with the telephone company, where he formed treasured friendships. He was active in Davis County politics and service organizations. Following retirement, he sold real estate in Salt Lake and St. George. Dad was the kindest and gentlest of men. His marriage to June is a love story that began in their youth. Dad took remarkably tender care of her until her death from Alzheimers Disease. His composure and practicality were very evident during the 2005 St. George flood, when his home and those of his neighbors washed away. His artistic ability has graced the lives of family and friends through his paintings and music. He had wonderful understanding of people, was a great listener and enjoyed helping others find solutions. He greatly appreciated his friends and neighbors, and had a special friendship with Glorya Garcia Schow. Dad loved his family and we knew it. Family and friends are invited to honor our dear father, brother, and friend in St. George on Monday, February 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W.
