St. George, UT - Robert Lee McLaughlin, 76, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 in St. George Utah. Robert was born on June 30, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Nelson and Cecil Schultus McLaughlin. Robert married his sweetheart Mary Goebel on February 20, 1965 in Syracuse, New York. During his life, Robert was an Electrical Engineer and worked for years in the defense industry. He was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. He loved taking his Jeep off road, hiking the scenic areas of Utah and Arizona and especially spending time with family and friends. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and brother. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children: John McLaughlin, Brian McLaughlin and Theresa Miller; five grandchildren: Claire, Bridget, Sarah, Sam and Lucas; and brothers: Dave McLaughlin and Jim McLaughlin. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both at the Mortuary.
