IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Hale
Pearce
May 24, 1928 – November 3, 2023
Robert Hale "Bob" Pearce, of Las Vegas, Nevada peacefully passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of ninety-five surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born May 24, 1928, in St. George, Utah. His parents were R. Hale and Leona Miles Pearce. He was raised in St. George, where he attended elementary school, middle school and high school and Dixie Collage prior to attending BYU, where he graduated with a degree in elementary education. Bob also attended Arizona State University earning a master's degree in elementary administration.
As a youth, Bob worked for L. B. Jennings Construction, JC Penny's, Big Hand Café, and during junior year in college at the O. K. Market where he learned how to cut meat with his Dad. Bob married Renee Ella Lund in the St. George Temple on May 25, 1948. They had seven children: Robert, Michael (deceased), Marilyn (deceased), Steven (Zenaida), Michael (Evan), David, Diana (deceased), nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In 1951, Bob and Renee moved to Las Vegas, where he taught school at John S. Park for nine years prior to being promoted to elementary principal in which capacity he successfully worked there for an additional twenty-three years. Bob was drafted into the military in 1952 and was eventually stationed in Germany. Renee joined him in March 1953, where they spent seventeen months together returning home on the same ship. Renee passed away in July 1990. During their time together, they enjoyed traveling, square dancing, playing cards with friends and especially spending time with family.
In 1994, Bob met Mattie Fix while square dancing. Following five years of courtship, they married in 1999. Bob and Mattie's marriage added four children to the family: Russell (deceased), LouAnn (John, deceased), Reid (Arnetta), LeeAnn (Skip), six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Bob and Mattie continued square dancing, traveling, and attending many wonderful family dinners. Bob was loved dearly by his entire family and his many friends. It is heartbreaking to lose our beloved family's patriarch, but realize it was his time to leave this earth and return to Renee and his passed family in heaven. We know Bob is with them now in peace, without pain and loved by them all.
