SHANE TOBLER
1/4/72 - 10/1/26
The family of Robert Shane Tobler is deeply saddened to announce his unexpected passing on October 1st at the age of 54.
Shane was born January 4th 1972 to Robert Wayne Tobler and Marianne Cooper Tobler; he was the oldest son and 3rd of 6 children. He was raised in Parowan, Utah and established his life and family in St. George where he started a career in framing, eventually transitioning to General Contracting. Shane thoroughly enjoyed the design and building process and taught himself AutoCAD so he could draw his own house plans. He learned to work hard from a young age and did whatever it took to do the job right. He was seen as an exceptional builder by all those who knew him.
Shane married his wife and best friend Carrie Ann Traveller on February 2, 1996. They were the proud parents of a daughter, Alexis, and son, Tayler. He was a true family man and found his greatest joy in guiding and providing for his family.
He had the mind of an engineer and the spirit of a teacher. If there was instruction to be given, Shane was there to give it. He often enjoyed the planning and research process more than the finished product itself. He had the perfect balance of a stoic and responsible exterior while remaining a kid at heart.
Shane was a man of MANY hobbies including poker, camping, bowling, fishing, corn hole, welding, sand-duning, long range shooting, photography, mountain and road biking, boating, wood working, rock climbing and puzzles but found his true love in pickleball. He always strived to be the best and excelled at everything he put his mind to.
He could always be found holding and loving the babies at family get-togethers and was especially looking forward to being a first time grandpa this December. His sudden loss was too soon, and his absence will leave an immense hole in the hearts of those who loved him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carrie; daughter, Alexis (Alec); son, Tayler (Katie) and future granddaughter, Opal; father, Bob (Tanya) Tobler; mother, Marianne (Tom) Smith; sister, Tammy (Bryan) Carter; sister, Cindy (Bryan) Werber; brother, Russell (Shirece) Tobler; sister, Tiffany (Winston) Young; brother, Wes Tobler; father-in-law, Dennis Traveller; mother-in-law, Diana Traveller; brother-in-law, Nate (Alisha) Traveller; brother-in-law, Andy Traveller; sister-in-law, Megan (Josh) Beecher; brother-in-law, Ryan Hill; brother-in-law, Kevin (Ali) Hill; brother-in-law, Matt (Aubrey) Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his bonus mom, Sheila Hill Traveller; grandparents, Heber and Grace Tobler; and grandmother, Maureen Cooper Gleave.
His family would like to thank those at the Picklr, the paramedics, and ER staff for their timely response and all of their efforts. They greatly appreciate the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the entire pickleball community.
There will be a public viewing on Thursday, October 8th from 6-8pm at Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary. A private family service will be held on Friday, October 9th.
