ST. GEORGE - Robert "Bob" Ward was born December 28, 1920 in Salt Lake City and was the seventh of nine children born to Frank Joseph Ward and Elizabeth Luella Peterson. He completed a full and wonderful life on November 22, 2011 at the age of 90, while living in St. George, Utah.

Robert always assumed leadership positions starting at East High School in student organizations and in football & track, while being raised in the familys dairy business of Arden Dairy - Sun Freeze Ice Cream (todays Meadow Gold Dairy), and in establishing successful businesses in Utah and Hawaii. Roberts natural talent in sales and marketing served him well all his life.

Robert loved his Heavenly Father and served in many leadership positions in the Melchizedek and Aaronic Priesthood, from being a full time missionary in the New England States Mission to being the Branch President of the Laie LDS Branch in Hawaii.

He served many years in his retirement as a Temple Ordinance Worker and volunteer at Intermountain Dixie Regional Medical Center. He loved horseback riding, sports, hiking, fishing, dancing and gardening. Most of all he loved his children.

Robert lived a life in accordance to his faith and his knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Robert has been blessed by a wonderful family of nine children: Burton, David, Gregory, Paul, Isabel, Jonathan, Peter, Moreton and Mary, with 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Our family learned to love and appreciated the special person Leora Morton Collins became in his life when they were married January 3, 2008. Robert was very fortunate to have married Isabel Moreton on July 8, 1943 and to have later married Florence Mae Free on May 15, 1958.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the St. George LDS 29 ^th Branch, 550 East 700 South, St. George. Visitations will be on Thursday, December 1 ^st from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., and on Friday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Church. Interment services: 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3440 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
