Ronald Orton Halterman was born August 30, 1944, in Cedar City, UT to Anna Mae Orton Halterman and Donald Eugene Halterman. He passed away October 20, 2025, at home in Hurricane, UT. He was married on May 13, 1967, to Mary Olsen in Springdale, UT.

He was preceded in death by parents, Anna Mae Halterman and Donald Eugene Halterman; brothers: Gary Halterman and Donald Halterman; and one sister, Betty Jane Jepson. He is survived by wife Mary; daughter, Tamara Halterman; son, Dustin (Sue) Halterman; grandchildren: Osomanu, and Alexis Halterman; and sister, Susan (Jerry) Olds. The family later sealed in the LDS Las Vegas Nevada Temple.

Dad was very proud of his service with the Utah National Guard. He also loved sharing stories of his fond memories of working the summers on the ranch near Newcastle, UT. This is where Dad learned the value of hard work and many other life lessons. Dad's career life consisted of designing and selling roof trusses working in Nevada, California, and Utah.

Dad liked to drive and was always good for a road trip. He always had a low whistle while he drove and liked to put peanuts in his Pepsi. Dad always knew about the places we would visit and shared it with us along the way.

Dad supported us kids in all of our activities. Dad coached sports and was a great support from the sidelines, and dugout. We will miss him but have comfort in knowing he is walking around having a sweet reunion with his Dad, Mom, Brothers, Sister, and many other family and friends that have gone before him.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hurricane City Cemetery, 255 East 600 North, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary located at 140 North Main Street.
