Obituary

Washington, UT - Ron, as he was known by many, a husband, father, grandfather, died November 3, 2009, at the age of 95, in Washington, Utah. Ron was born May 10, 1914, in Roosevelt, Utah. He was the son of Lydia McClemmends and Samuel Page. He married Amber Swain October 14, 1942. They had one son, Ronald. Amber passed away in 1984. Ron married an old school teachers daughter, Alora Atwood Kolb, October 17, 1984. To this union she added three children, Donal, Tyron, and Karon and their many children and grandchildren. Ron and Alora moved to Leeds, Utah in 1985 and later to St. George. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many positions and was a temple worker. Grandpa Ron, as he was later to be known, was a baker by trade and, in his profession, he traveled the world. He also served in the Navy in Hawaii during WWII. He is survived by his son, two grandchildren, sister Hazel Reed of Roosevelt, Utah, and many extended family. He was preceded in death by both wives. Amber and Alora. The family would like to express appreciation and say thank you to the Beehive Home and also to Hospice Alliance. Graveside services were held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
