Ronald
Stever
Mar 18, 1948 — Jun 26, 2026
Ronald Roy Stever, known as Ron, passed away on June 26, 2026, at his home in Ivins, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78 years old.
Born March 18, 1948 in Corvallis, Oregon to Robert Roy Stever and Elizabeth Anne Gubler.
He married Patricia Lynne Schwab on December 10, 1971 in Oakland, California.
Ron lived a life defined by unwavering positivity, deep kindness, and a generous spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ron was a man who never let hardships steal his joy. Even during the most difficult days of his illness, when everyone asked how he was doing, his answer was always the same: “Finer than frog hairs.” That was just how he was… Optimistic.
Ron served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ireland, from 1967 until 1969.
Ron held a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration, was a Respiratory Therapist for 45 years, and taught pulmonary rehabilitation for 15 years. He was always so kind and caring for his patients that the Sisters of Mercy used to call him Saint Ron.
Ron had many hobbies. He collected walking sticks, hats, belt buckles, rocks, and Pez dispensers. He was an avid cyclist, hiker, and camper. He loved going on jeep rides in Mike’s Red jeep.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of 55 years, his son Adam, his son Ryan/Sarah {Caleb, Grace, Liam, and Garrett} and his daughter Lisa Williams/Steven {Aubrey, Kate, Ella, Meg, Mila, and Violet}.
He is also survived by his sister Debra Shepard, and brother Michael Stever, and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Ron’s family was his everything. He was a great husband, father, uncle, and friend.
He will be truly missed by all.
