Rose Vernell Iverson Rich

Rose Vernell Iverson Rich quietly passed away in her home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, where she joyfully rejoined her Heavenly Parents, husband and a whole host of family and friends in the Spirit World.

Rose had a positive sweetness that endeared her to everyone who knew her. She was born in Mt. Trumbull on the Arizona Strip, and was raised in St. George and American Fork, Utah. She married Ray Eugene Rich in the St. George Temple on November 17, 1956 and raised their children in Redondo Beach, California. They happily retired to St. George in 1991.

Homemaking was Rose’s life career. Later on, she earned a college nursery school aide certification, which she really enjoyed. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she served a mission to Terra Haute, Indiana about 1954. She met her husband through their missionary companions (he in Tahiti, she in Indiana).

Rose enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, quilt-making, memory-keeping, and adult coloring. She had a wonderful eye for color. She also became a political junkie and had a particular enthusiasm for unfolding current events. Her faith in God was solid, and the guiding aspect of her life.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, parents and 5 brothers. She is survived by one brother, Lloyd (aka Pete) Iverson, her five children: Judy Archer (Nathan) of St. George, Utah, David Rich (Betsy) of Walkertown, North Carolina, Nancy Call (Randy) of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Scott Rich of St. George, Utah, and Susan Holdaway (Frank) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Rose fiercely loved her family, and they deeply loved her. She will be sorely missed and remembered always.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. George 16th Ward Chapel, 550 East, 700 South. This will be followed by a family memorial service. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery.
