St. George, Utah – Roy James "Buzzy" Foreman, 89, passed away on December 7, 2021, after a long illness of renal disease.
Roy "Buzzy" was born on November 6, 1932, to Geneva Caroline Barney Foreman and Dennis Wolf Foreman in Los Angeles, CA. Buzzy was the middle child of three – brother, Denny Ray Foreman and younger sister, Suzanne Foreman Brown.
Buzzy grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from John C. Fremont High School. After graduation he served in the Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he was a soldier during the Korean War 1953-1954. During his service he earned several medals including Expert Marksman, Good Conduct and Defense medals.
Upon return from his time in the Army he married Darlene Allsop on March 5, 1955. They settled in La Mirada, CA in 1956 and in 1960 welcomed their first son, Steven, in 1964 David and in 1970 Paul.
Buzzy was employed with the United States Postal Service and retired in 1989. In 1992 he and Darlene decided to move to St. George to enjoy their retirement.
Buzzy's faith meant a great deal to him. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While raising their three sons in La Mirada he served in the Bishopric of the first ward and after moving to St. George served as a primary teacher in the Bloomington Hill 4 th Ward.
Buzzy had many talents, besides being a great husband and father, he was a great friend to many and a great listener. He led by example and always knew when and where he was needed.
Buzzy is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons: Steven (Charlotte), David (Tina) and Paul (Jamie); brother, Denny (Nancy) Forman; sister, Suzanne Foreman Brown; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., with a visitation prior from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 750 East Ft. Pierce Drive North, St. George, Utah. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
