Santa Clara, UT – On July 20, 2021, Russell Dean Shields passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Russ is survived by his children: Kyle (Erin), Kelsey, and Kirby; two granddaughters: Louisa and Greta; and siblings: Louise and Brian.

He graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science. Russ was a respiratory therapist in home health, hospital, and acute care throughout his career. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many teaching and leadership capacities.

Russ will be remembered for his sense of humor, outgoing nature, and being the provider of fun. He was most often found in the pool or jacuzzi where he made friends with everyone he met.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., at the Santa Clara Chapel, 3680 Pioneer Pkwy, Santa Clara, UT 84765.  Interment at the Veyo City Cemetery following his cremation. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts.
