St. George, UT - Sally Ruth Busby Tippetts of St. George, Utah returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Utah Valley Speciality Hospital in Orem, Utah after a long and discouraging bout with pneumonia and other lung and breathing problems. She was born on 16, August 1923 to Rolee E. Busby and Lavern Tippetts in Perry, Utah where she grew up and attended Perry Elementary School and later attended Box Elder Junior and High School. Ruth was an activemember of the 26th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. George, Utah until her worsening health prevented it. She was a regular patron of The St. George Temple. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Verl Tippetts (Vicky) of Boise, Idaho and Lee R. Tippetts (Patti) of St. George, Utah; her brother, William L. Busby of Garland, Utah; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verl Orvin Tippetts; her daughter, Cherrie Rae Bartlome (Gordan); her brothers, Lynn R. Busby (Audrey) and Granville Busby; and her parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. George LDS Flood St. Chapel, 85 South 400 East, St. George, Utah. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, Utah.
