IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sean Michael
Moore
September 30, 1981 – August 4, 2023
Hurricane, Utah – Sean Michael Moore, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, was tragically taken from his family on August 4, 2023, in Hurricane, Utah, at the age of 41.
Born on September 30, 1981, in Murray, Utah, Sean was the fifth of ten children born to Michael and Jackie Moore. He tipped the scales at over 9 pounds, announcing his larger-than-life presence from the very beginning.
Sean grew up in a bustling household in West Valley City, Utah. He shared a unique bond with his brother, Ryan, as the only two brothers in a household of eight sisters. Sean's childhood was nurtured by the vibrant dynamics of sibling camaraderie.
Sean found his soulmate in Gretchen (Clark) Moore, and their love story was one for the ages. They first crossed paths at the Panguitch rodeo and fate brought them together once again at the Bryce Canyon Rodeo. After a whirlwind romance, they were married on March 24, 2001, in Panguitch, Utah. They embarked on their life journey together there and eventually settled in Southern Utah, where they lived for 18 wonderful years.
Fatherhood was a chapter Sean eagerly awaited. His patient anticipation was rewarded with his three girls: Ashlynne (13), Izzy (12), and Ana (8). Sean was a kind and loving father who showed them the beauty of compassion and generosity. Everything he did in life, he did for Gretchen and his daughters. His world revolved around HIS GIRLS.
His legacy of devotion and caring also extended to his numerous nieces and nephews, who often referred to him as Uncle Seany or Uncle Dudude.
Sean's youthful spirit led him to explore his passions early on. While attending Hunter High School, he showcased his musical talent by playing the trumpet. Marching with the school band in the Nephi Utes Stampede was a highlight.
From a young age, Sean's heart belonged to the cowboy way of life. He joined the rodeo club in high school and even dared to ride a bull. He also spent time at Wheeler Farm, tending to chores and working with animals.
Sean's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his passions, and his community.
He found immense joy and fulfillment as an Operations Manager at KORE for 18.5 years. His dedication and regard shone brightly in his work and he gained many lifelong friends through his time working there.
Sean's kindness extended beyond his family; he was known for his generous nature, always ready to lend a helping hand. His coaching prowess was evident when he took on the role of coaching his daughters' softball teams, endearing himself to players and families alike. He earned the nickname "Coach Sean," and his legacy as the "people's coach" lives on in the Hurricane Hustle softball club.
Sean's enthusiasm for life knew no bounds. He was an avid fan of the University of Utah Utes and his love for the team led him to purchase the motorcycle that Swoop, the mascot, used to ride. His fervor for the outdoors was evident in his love for hunting and the mountains. He achieved a triumphant moment when he successfully hunted a bull elk during an archery hunt. He couldn't wait to share his enthusiasm for hunting with Ashlynne, hoping to fill her first archery tag this season.
Music resonated deeply within Sean's soul and his singing talents brought joy to countless hearts. With an eclectic taste in music, Sean was often heard belting out tunes and engaging in friendly debates about musical preferences. His love for karaoke and DJing family weddings showcased his animated personality and sense of fun. His musical talents even led him to win a contest, earning him the coveted spot of opening act at the Reggae festival in Washington Fields, UT.
Sean is survived by his devoted wife, Gretchen; his mother, Jackie Moore; and his cherished daughters: Ashlynne, Izzy, and Ana. His memory lives on through his siblings: Stephanie Todd (Patrick), Jamie Christensen (Jon), Melodie Newman (Kenny), Kellie Harker (Lance), Carrie Carrell (Brian), Ryan Moore (Sam), Cammie Schmitt, Whitney Moore (Erick), and Holly Mafua (Siolimi). He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Cory Clark; and his in-laws: Tracy Henderson (Mark), Ginny Dunham (Willie), and Teresea Pearson (Justin). Sean's impact reached beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of several nieces and nephews who adored him.
