Obituary

Sheila Larson Traveller was born July 19, 1961, in Salt Lake City, the sixth child of Harris Dean and Vonda Ivory Larson. She made friends easily because all enjoyed being in her presence. She loved to dance, sew, play games and was a talented puzzler. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and attending live theater. Her smile was one of her greatest assets.

Three boys were born to Sheila and Jeff Hill: Ryan, Kevin and Matt. Her love for these boys knew no limit, and her family enjoyed many happy times. Several years after their divorce, Sheila met and married an extraordinary man, Dennis Traveller, and they were sealed for eternity in the House of the Lord. Their new family blended Sheila's sons and Dennis' four children. Dennis would later prove to be a most charitable and compassionate spouse as he cared for his forever companion for the last few years of her life.

On the evening of Wednesday, February 12, 2025, our beautiful Sheila left mortality behind. For many years, Sheila fought the good fight against an unconquerable disease, Primary Progressive Aphasia/Apraxia. Wishing things were different, but without complaint as this degenerative illness ran its unyielding course, Sheila slowly lost her ability to move, to think clearly and even to communicate with those she dearly loved. Those who grieved most watched helplessly as this vivacious and fun-loving girl finally came to the conclusion of her earthly life.

Faith in her Savior and a testimony of His Gospel and Atonement were important to Sheila throughout her life. Following Christ's example, she was an encouragement to all who struggled through life's disappointments.

Sheila leaves behind her devoted and loving husband Dennis Traveller and her children: Ryan (Zach) Hill, Kevin (Ali) Hill, Matt (Aubrey) Hill, Carrie (Shane) Tobler, Nate (Alisha) Traveller, Andy Traveller and Megan (Josh) Beecher. She will certainly be missed by her six siblings: Linda (Richard) Prince, Carl Larson, Larry (Jeri) Larson, Diane (Bob) Prince, John (Jennifer) Larson and Wendy (David) Hemingway, as well as her 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Vonda Larson, a sister-in-law Kalynn Larson and grandson Arlo Dean Hill.
