St. George, Utah – On Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 11:55 a.m., our dear cousin, friend and neighbor, Shirley Ann Jones Lehman Fullerton, passed away of heart failure at the age of 90 in the St. George Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah.

Shirley was born in Winona, Minnesota on July 28, 1930 to Wilbur Herbert Raymond Jones and Mary Teresa Guenther. She attended high school in Minnesota, and she worked as a cashier in a grocery store for many years. In 1948, she met and married her sweetheart and eternal companion, Donald E. Lehman. He had served in the military, and then worked the rest of his life as a postal worker. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962. They moved to St. George in 1980, and Donald and Shirley enjoyed many years of service in the St. George Temple. Donald died of cancer in 1992. In 1993 Shirley married Walter Hardy Fullerton; he passed away in 2006. Shirley had no children, but she embraced Walter's seven children as her own. Shirley also has a brother and sister who preceded her in death.

Shirley served as a genealogy extraction worker at the St. George Tabernacle for more than 20 years, and she was also a voracious reader. But she was best known for her musical talent. She had a powerful soprano voice, and she was an extraordinary musical conductor. She directed the hymns in sacrament meetings for many years. She was also famous for her warm hugs!

Shirley will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and neighbors, but we are sure she and Donald are having a wonderful reunion on the other side of the veil.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara City Cemetery, 950 Ancestor Way, Santa Clara, Utah.
