St. George, UT - Stella W. Davis (Cotten) returned home to her Heavenly Father on December 26, 2010 at the age of 90. She was born in Craig, Colorado on May 2, 1920 to Otis Edger Witherell and Parna Trilba Dudley Witherell. She married her long time friend and sweetheart, Glen Luke Cotten and they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 7, 1950. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1972. She married three additional times. Stella and Glenn made their home in Colorado and later moved to several locations throughout Utah. Stella later made her home in St. George. She was a faithful member and had many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including: Primary President, Primary Teacher, Relief Society, Young Womens, Visiting Teacher and member of the Church Choir. She was compassionate and loving to all she met taking food and goodies to neighbors and those in need. Her grandkids loved to stay at grandmas and play games with her. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Velman Witherell and Carl Witherell, and one sister, Viola Castle. Stella is survived by her twin sister, Ella Strode, her children: Sondra (Ken) Crandall, Carlyon (Bill) Breig, Larry (Lila) Cotten and Janet (Dennis) Hall, 13 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Red Cliffs Regional Care Center, Dixie Regional Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 400 East 100 South. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Chapel. Interment will be Friday, December 31, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
