Hurricane, Utah – Stephen "Steve" Grant Humphries, 60, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 10:10 p.m. He was born September 25, 1961, in St. George, Utah to Delworth and Nellie Brooks Humphries. He married Eva Maria Sweet on September 13, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity on November 16, 2013.

Better known to family and friends as Steve, he was raised in Las Vegas where he attended school and graduated from Chaparral High School. Steve worked many jobs throughout his life, but his favorite "Job" was being a loving dad to HIS three girls and three boys. He enjoyed traveling to visit his family in Michigan, California, Oregon, and Hawaii.

Steve was a lover of all music, and he enjoyed playing piano and guitar - always one to write a quick song to match the occasion while entertaining his grandkids or to serenade his truest love, Eva. Steve loved everything about space and would often be found out back with a telescope on a clear night.

Steve is preceded in death by his grandparents; brother, Richard; brother-in-law, Herbie; and in-laws, Herb and Barb Sweet. He is survived by his parents, Buck and Dawn of Hurricane, Utah; his wife, Eva; his six children: Emily (David) Riddle of Boron, CA, Casey (Mina) Humphries of Hilo, HI, Sara (Ryan) Scheppmann of Las Vegas, NV, Lacy (Michael) Taghon of Newberg, OR, Michael (Jenna) Warnes of St. Louis, MI and Kenneth Humphries of Hurricane, UT; twelve grandchildren: Madison, Christopher, Zion, Ezra, Pauline, Aubrey, Jacob, Keira, Leo, Talon, Anthony, and Maria; three brothers: Craig (Gayleen) Humphries of Hurricane, UT, Kenneth (Laura) Humphries of Henderson, NV and Brooks (Liza) Humphries of Hurricane UT; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hurricane Stake Center, 677 South 700 West, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday, prior to services, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery located at 255 East 600 North.
