Obituary

Cedar City, UT - Suzanne Kirtley Bonzo slipped the bonds of earth on 23 November 2009. She was released from her many years of confinement due to Muscular Dystrophy and Diabetes. Emily Dickinsons words seem appropriate: Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me .... She was surrounded by her family and loving husband who has been her care giver for the last five years. She was born in Challis, Idaho, to Charles Gordon and Edith Howell Kirtley on 22 April 1938. She married Kenneth C. Bonzo on 18 January 1958. They were sealed in the St. George Temple, 26 January 1963. Because of her fathers employment, she moved often during her childhood. When Suzanne was 10 years old, her family settled in Cedar City. She owned and operated The Book Rack for a number of years. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings. She is survived by her husband; children: Sue Ann (Bret) Bergstrom, Donna Rae (Terry) Sanders, all of Cedar City; Howard (Ruth) of Nephi, and Gordon (Jennifer) of Lindon; brother, Tom (Rosalie) Kirtley, sister-in-law Linda Kirtley of Mina, NV; three brothers-in-law: David (Ione), Max (Susan), Douglas, all of Cedar City; sisters-in-law, Patricia Close of Las Vegas, NV, Maxine Bonzo of Parowan, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, the following grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Waylon, Kadie, Stenson, Keller, Audria, Ellis, Kelsey, Anthony, Terrah, Megan, Kenneth, Sarah, Eliza, Spencer, Nathan, Colin, Emrie, Logan, McKye, Madsen, Jaynie, Kyson, Andy, and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar City LDS Stake Center, 155 East 400 South, Cedar City, Utah.
