St. George, UT - Suzanne Lee Dinning, 69, of St. George, Utah, passed away July 9, 2010 at her daughters home, surrounded by family and friends. Suzanne Lee Miller was born on May 4, 1941 to William and Mildred Miller in Los Angeles, California. She was the older of two siblings for Bill and Millie, with brother, Rick, four years later. After she graduated from high school at 16, Sue went on a brief stint at BYU, then returned home and was married at the tender age of 18 to Warren Dinning in Pasadena, California. They had four children: Danelle, Jeffery (who passed away at the age of three), Chris, and Julie. Sue and Warren divorced in 1975, and Sue began the rigorous task of raising her three children as a single parent. She worked in accounting at several hospitals in the Los Angeles area, finishing up and retiring from Huntington Memorial Hospital after nine years. She made the move to St. George in the summer of 1996. Finding herself quite bored with the whole retirement scene, she began work again, first at Color Country Health Care Express, where she developed lasting friendships. Sues most enjoyable employment, however, came when she landed in the Financial Aid Department at Dixie State College. She worked very closely with many of the athletes, and absolutely loved that experience! She treasured those years at DSC and the friends she made there, but most of all, she loved her boys and would have continued to work there if it were not for her health. By far, the most precious treasures in Sues life were her three grandchildren: Hannah, Daniel, and Emma. They were her reason for living, and doing her best to stay here as long as possible. Sue was a firm believer in doing all that she could for her family and friends, or anyone she felt could use a helping hand . Many peoples lives were blessed by her small acts of kindness. Sue is survived by her two children of St. George, Danelle and Chris Dinning; her daughter and son-in-law of West Jordan, Julie and Brad Stoney, along with their three children, Hannah, Daniel, and Emma; her brother Rick Miller; and a host of extended family. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
