Washington, UT - Terry Leon Manis, 60, passed away at his home in Washington, Utah on November 4, 2009. He was born February 15, 1949 to BerDeane Dalley (Sinkule) and J. Edgar Manis in Delta, Utah. He attended school in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Terry was an avid reader, loved playing Texas Hold Em Poker and enjoyed cribbage and movies with family and friends. Motorcycles were his passion from an early age and he was a Master Motorcycle Mechanic for 40 years. He earned numerous awards for excellence and retired from Yamaha of Berkley, California in 2004. Terry was admired for his wonderful sense of humor as well as a kind and loving spirit. He enjoyed helping others and volunteered with Southern Utah Home Care and Hospice until his death. He actively participated in the Course of Miracles and had a gift for making friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Terry was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jerry J. Manis, father J. Edgar Manis, stepfather David N. Sinkule and grandparents. He is survived by his mother BerDeane Sunshine Sinkule, sisters Sandy McCausland and Tanya K. Manis, Auntie Lorna Dalley Webb and husband Willard, children: Donald M. Manis, Neesha F. Norman, Terri BerDeane Gonzalez, Eric L. Manis, Aaron Manis and extended family, including stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services willbe held Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Unity Church of Positive Living, 198 North 100 East, St. George, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
