St. George, UT - Thomas Hubert Berdan, 78, died April 16, 2010 in St. George, UT. Born in Minneapolis, MN to Hubert Joseph Berdan and Mabel Kathryn Grant. On February 8, 1958, he married the love of his life, Barbara Kathryn Spanbauer Tom grew up in Clinton, IA and graduated from Clinton High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Marquette University. He spent his career as a sales engineer and worked for the California State Lottery. Tom was a 55 year member of the Knights of Columbus and serve din leadership roles for both the 3rd and 4th degrees. He was a private pilot and volunteered for the American Red Cross, the St. George Catholic Thrift Shop and Soup Ministry and as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. He loved to cook for others and his true passion was woodworking. Loving father of Cathy Weber, Holmdel, New Jersey; Karen Hoffmann, Camarillo, California; Mark Berdan, Poway, California; and Susan Zucca, Saratoga, California. In addition to his children, he is survived by his sisters: Marilyn Berdan and Helen Feldmeier, and thirteen grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at St. George Catholic Church, St. George, UT on Saturday, April 24th at 1pm. Arrangements are being handled by Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
