St. George, UT - Today I lost my best friend and companion Thomas W. Thornton. He passed away November 10, 2013 at his home in St. George, Utah. He was born to Carl and Evelyn Thornton in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He is preceded in death by son Gary. He is survived by three children: Christine (Lonnie) Burnham, Kathy Woods, and Carl Thornton and sister Shirley Broadman and brother Richard (Linda) Thornton. He also leaves behind his loving companion Norma L. Kocha and her family and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called him "Grandpa Tom".

Tom was a truck driver all his adult life. He received the Million Mile award for never having an accident or a ticket.

Norma and Tom spent the later years of their life traveling the United States with their dog Bootie.
