Timothy Ferrell passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026 at 10:26 a.m., a pattern of numbers he would have loved. He left behind a beautiful legacy of family, adventure, and unwavering kindness.

Born on June 10, 1955, in Seattle, Washington, to James Arthur Warsinske and Nancy Thomas, Tim spent his early years moving often. Raised by his mother and Richard Melvin Ferrell, who adopted him, Tim quickly took on the role of protector and organizer.

As the eldest brother to six siblings, Tim was the beacon of athletic grace and keen intelligence, always gentle and inclusive. Kind and steady with his five brothers and one sister, he always rallied his younger siblings in sport and fun activities together - golf, pickup basketball, snow skiing, tennis, kite flying and weightlifting. He coordinated everything from the sibling Thanksgiving football snow and mud games to the sibling allowance money pool to buy and share extra pizza on the weekends. Tim often mowed the lawn by first mowing a large oval track into the tall grass, and then organizing a track meet among and with the siblings. He finished mowing after the track meet was done and the kids were worn out. He was always apt to teach and guide, but never with an unkind word.

He was always in motion. A gifted athlete, Tim excelled in football, soccer, track, basketball, and baseball. In his later years, he picked up snow and water skiing and especially golf, sinking two impressive holes-in-one.

Blessed with a brilliant mind, a head for numbers, and an almost photographic memory, Tim easily adapted to new schools and made friends wherever he went. He graduated from high school in 1973 and went on to Brigham Young University. There, he walked on to the football team, though his athletic career was unfortunately cut short by a broken arm. He graduated from BYU in 1978 with a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance.

On September 23, 1977, Tim married Sandra Dee Ellis in the Provo Utah Temple. Though their 39-year marriage had its ups and downs, they remained deeply connected and close friends throughout his life. Together they welcomed two daughters, Jennifer Anne and Lindsay Leigh. Tim was an exceptionally kind and doting father, utilizing his budgeting and financial skills to provide a wonderful life and plan unforgettable vacations for his girls.

Those vacations sparked a lifelong passion for boating in the Southwest desert. Tim and his family began making epic trips to Lake Mead and Lake Powell, starting humbly with a small Four Winns boat, a single tent, and collapsible furniture. Over the years, these trips evolved into luxurious adventures on a 48-foot houseboat complete with air conditioning, a slide, and comfortable beds. The family fondly remembers waterskiing, wakeboarding, early morning ski runs, playing "shark" on the tube, and ice cream runs to Dangling Rope Marina. Tim was a careful planner and a vigilant protector, ensuring slot canyon hikes, cliff jumping, and boating excursions were always safe and joyful.

A dedicated and highly reliable worker, Tim provided faithfully for his family throughout his career, working for Uintah Engineering and Countrywide Truck Insurance. In his later years, Tim was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's dementia. Though navigating the illness was incredibly difficult, he faced it with perseverance and humor until the very end.

Tim is survived by his two loving daughters, Jennifer Anne (David) Scoville and Lindsay Leigh (Collin) Swenson; and his nine beloved grandchildren—Kate, Leah, Ashley, Julia, and Ryan Scoville, and Sean, Shae, Everly, and Bryn Swenson.

Tim is also survived by all his siblings Garth (Jan) Ferrell, Brad (Angie) Ferrell, Andrena (Don) Marchant, Mike (Sandy) Ferrell, Sean (Tara) Ferrell, and Jay (Tiffany) Ferrell, as well as nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express our deep love and gratitude for all the people at Legacy Village and Dixie Hospice who cared for Tim with kindness and compassion.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who cherish his hardworking spirit, his ability to make everything fun, and kindness to everyone he met. They take comfort in the beautiful memories he created and look forward to the day they are reunited.

Celebration of Life on June 10, 2026, Tim’s 71st birthday will be held at Lake Powell. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.at the Santa Clara Cemetery, 1950 Ancestor Way, Santa Clara, Utah.
