Obituary

St. George, Utah - Tyler Reed Houchen left this earth and returned to his Heavenly Father on June 8, 2013. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on August 22, 1992 to Jeffrey C. and Tamara Dee Houchen. He graduated from Snow Canyon High School. Anyone who knew Tyler (Hoochie) was forever changed. He was so full of life, he literally glowed. He recently graduated from drug court after battling his addiction. He was a successful and well respected manager of two local Subways where people would drive out of their way just to see him and his contagious smile. They walked in for a sandwich, but left with a friend. His friends and his family meant the world to him, but most of all his love for Jesus Christ who he depended on till the end. Tyler would not want you to be sad, but to remember his undying spirit and to know that your lives are better because of knowing him. He is survived by his parents, Jeff & Tammy Houchen; brother, Connor Houchen; half-brother, Derek Heape; grandparents, Les & Sandy Bears; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins who will have an emptiness in their hearts without him in their lives. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Canyon LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 1625 Lava Flow Dr., St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Friday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221. Donations may be made on behalf of Tyler Reed Houchen through the America First Credit Union (435) 688-3800.
