Hurricane, Utah – Vaska Jacqueline "Jacquie" Detton, 89, passed away October 17, 2023. She was born October 8, 1934, in Los Angeles, California to Morgan and Esther Milburn Hensgen. She married Robert Reed Detton on June 5, 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They had six children.

After the passing of her husband, Jacquie remarried Alan Capon. They moved to Southern Utah, where they ran a business, and she ran for Major. Jacquie and Alan served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Okinawa, Japan.

Jacquie was a talented seamstress who loved animals, especially her dogs, goats, and mini horses.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert and daughter, Shelly. She is survived by Wendy, Morgan, Scott, Robin V., Terri Lynne and their families.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday prior to services, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery, 300 Park View Drive, Washington, Utah.
