Obituary

Velma "Jean" Beach Lewsader, 86, made her transition to Heaven on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her home in St. George, Utah. She was born July 18, 1930 in Harlingen, Texas.

Jean spent the first half of her life in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas with her husband, Eugene Hoskins and five children.

While being a loving mom and wife, Jean worked as a key punch operator with the Brownsville Cotton Compress, and then served as a driver's license clerk with the Texas Department of Public Safety offices in Brownsville and Harlingen.

In 1979, Jean suffered a devastating blow, as her husband, Eugene, passed away. She pulled through though and eight years later, she met and married another special man, Charles Lewsader.

Jean and Charles retired to Hot Springs, Arkansas, but after three years they wanted to get back in business. They moved to the state of Washington in 1991 and developed their highly successful business, Lewsader Construction Company.  After retiring for the second time in 2009, they moved to St. George, Utah where they enjoyed the sunshine and visits from loved ones.

Jean in preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene P. Hoskins; parents, Agnes and Leo Beach; aunt and uncle, Alice and John Tucker; sisters: Lucille Goff and Carol Whitley; son-in-law, Don Grady; and grandson, Andrew Kaluza.

Jean is survived by her husband, Charles R. Lewsader; sister, Maryanne Hoelscher; a combination of nine children, step-children and their spouses: Charles and Paula Hoskins, Donna and Bob Bonbright, Mark and Teresa Hoskins, Cheryl and Mike Kaluza, Maricarol and Chris Darden, Richard and Diane Lewsader, Kenneth Lewsader, Ron and June Lewsader, and Ginny Grady; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Jean is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank all the kind individuals who provided care to Jean, including Encompass Hospice, Care to Stay Home, and all her many family and friends.

In memory of Jean, donations can be made to the charity your choice.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to honor Jean's memory, with a message, may post their thoughts to the Metcalf Mortuary web site.
