Obituary

Cane Beds, AZ - Velma Pauline Braley McOmber, 84, died December 1, 2021, at her home in Cane Beds, AZ. She was born on July 23, 1937, in Iowa City, IA. While born in Iowa City, IA, she has lived in California, New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona.

Velma earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from La Verne University in La Verne, CA in 1991. She was a member of The Red Hatters of the Hurricane, UT Chapter for the last 17 years, where she served as an Ambassador and Historian. She loved to go "rock hounding" and camping with her family every summer she could.

She is survived by her brother, Henry Sinclair; her children: Mary Wilton – 65, Mark Braley – 61, Tina Rameriz – 59, Kim Genovese – 58, Shawn Braley – 55; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Burial services will be in January 2022 in Rowland Heights, CA at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

She was loved by her family, friends, and sisters at the Red Hat Society. We want to also thank Metcalf Mortuary and Zion's Way Hospice for their acts of kindness and care.
