IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Verl Douglas
Richmond
October 18, 1952 – February 13, 2023
St George – With sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of our loving husband, father, brother and friend, Verl Richmond.
Verl was born on October 18, 1952, to Robert C. Richmond and Minnie Louise Lund in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was married to Aven Gardner and had 3 children, who were the love of his life. Drew, Matt, and Britney (Travis). They lived in Santa Clara, Utah where he served his community in the Santa Clara 7th ward bishopric, also fixing & maintaining his family and friends vehicles.
He loved coaching his boys in baseball over the years. He loved supporting his 3 grandchildren (Nolan and Lincoln Peine, Taylie Richmond) in their many talents, hobbies, and interests. His family was his greatest joy.
He lifted people's hearts with his witty one-liners and "Verl-isms" followed by his signature laugh. He had friends everywhere he went and everywhere he went he was always recognized by those friends. Each outing or errand turned into long visits. He will be greatly missed.
Verl is the oldest of 4 siblings. Carol Jo Paulson (Ross), Nan Hardy (Jay), Ken Richmond (Deanna).
He is survived by his loving wife and companion Roma Ann Richmond. They spent their retirement traveling and making memories together. Verl enjoyed the last 5 years using his extraordinary work ethic and ability to do and fix anything on the property where he and Roma lived. He enjoyed woodworking, cutting and splitting firewood, gardening, and service to others in his community.
