St. George, Utah - Vernal "Jerry" Williams, 90, passed away July 8, 2016 with his loving wife and daughter at his side. He was born August 26, 1925 in Lewiston, Utah to Floyd and Ethel Williams in their home. Growing up in Lewiston, he and his brothers were very mischievous. At the young age of 17, Vernal entered the U.S Navy during World War II and served his time on a carrier ship all over the Pacific Ocean.

After his service he went to work for the Tooele Ordinance Depot as a production programmer where he met Helen Andrus, the future mother of his children. The two were married in 1949 and had three daughters and one son, just a mischievous as him. Vernal and Helen were later divorced. On April 4, 1974 Vernal remarried to the love of his life, Kathleen 'Kathy" Smith.

Vern fell in love with Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming where he and Kathy spent many wonderful summers golfing and fishing. During these summers, Vern prided himself on his prize-winning raspberries, grown with love in his own backyard. When the seasons changed, Vernal and Kathy were fortunate enough to avoid the snow by wintering in St. George, Utah.

Vern was a hardworking man with a gentle soul, but with what little time he had he spent with his children and family. When he retired he spent many hours with his favorite great-grandson, Michael.

Vernal is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; daughters, Linda (Mike) Kocha and Carol (Brent) Hainey; son, David (Judi) Williams; a sister, Lavell; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Alvin and Paul; daughter, Bonnie; and granddaughter, Heidi.
