Hurricane, Utah - Vickey Woolsey Coleman Hansen passed away at home due to complications from Alzheimer's on May 19, 2022. She was born in Panguitch, UT on July 24, 1944, to Wells Woolsey and Beth Cottam. She was the oldest of five siblings and spent her childhood in Escalante, UT. She married Dan Coleman on October 1, 1960, and together they raised four children on the Salt Gulch Ranch near Boulder, UT.

Vickey's ability to master complex crafts and cuisine was appreciated at home and throughout the communities she lived in. Her many talents ranged from sewing and cooking to gardening, painting, and anything a craft catalog could offer – many still comment on the handmade gifts Vickey has given over the years. After obtaining a master's degree equivalency in education, she started her teaching career in 1993 at Escalante High School before transferring to Pleasant Grove Junior High School in Pleasant Grove, UT in 1996. She taught there for 13 years before retiring in 2009.

While living in northern Utah, Vickey met her second husband, Gary Hansen. They married on July 26, 2003, and retired to a life of travel and adventure in Hurricane, UT. Gary and Vickey enjoyed spending summers at their summer cabin and hosting family gatherings. Vickey especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and made those experiences memorable with ATV adventures, delicious food, and competitive but good-natured games.

In addition to her husband, Gary, Vickey is survived by her siblings, Linda (Barry) Barnson, Robert (Susan) Woolsey, and Weldo (Kathy) Woolsey; her first husband, Dan Coleman; her children, Tony (Tammy) Coleman, Shane (Katie) Coleman, Tamra (Gayle) Pace, and Bonnie (Dan) Vallieres; stepchildren, Melanie (Mike) Gilbert and Courtney (Valisa) Hansen; as well as nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy (Brenda) Woosley, mother, father, and step-father, Glover Smith.

A family memorial service is scheduled for a later date.
